This is post #5 in a series of blog articles focusing on a Google Experiment; how to rank keyword phrases on the front page of Google using 2.5 hours a week for a maximum 90 days.

So far, this week I spent a half an hour doing keyword research. I have spent no time outside of my normal time to write a couple of articles and I’ve spent an hour getting those articles completed and posted online. So how did I spend that second hour exactly?

I leverage a system of marketing articles, more commonly known as “article marketing.” The system allows me to take an article and publicize it on various article sites online. Some of the sites I use includes; Ezine articles, Go Articles, Article Dashboard, Article City and many more.

So, your probably asking yourself, if you’re publicizing your articles on all those sites, how come it only took an hour?

Because I use an efficient system for marketing articles, which saves time and ultimately money. The marketing article software that I use is called Article Post Robot and I came across it about three years ago and have been using it faithfully ever since.

Here are a few of the things it will do automatically;

a) It posts content onto various article websites by logging you in automatically.

b) It then takes the content you have written and posts it on each respective site.

c) And, it automatically logs you off eash site and goes on to the next one in order.

One of the main benefits of marketing articles with this program is launching your campaign with the click of a single button. Although the software takes some initial set up, it creates long term time saving and benefits.

Many people talk about marketing articles, yet few offer up the answer, on how to save time and get a big result. Part of the software’s initial set up includes; registering for article sites which are more relevant, valuable and more popular than others.

Other great ideas on how speed up your marketing articles process are; auto-filled forms, as well as other easily attainable software and plug-ins that will help you through the process more efficiently.

So yesterday, here’s exactly how I spent my time. I signed up for two new article sites, which I had not been a member of previously. Normally I do five, which doesn’t take that much longer, but I only had an hour.

I modified the context of the article to work better with search engines.

There are several ways to do that. One of the best ways is to make it seem as though you are not posting duplicate content. You must do this because search engines such as Google, like to see different content, and not duplication.

The multiplied effect is that when a search engine crawls the article, how it sees your strategic links which then affects your search ranking results.

Enter to win means that you must enter this challenge in order to get the result that those have already accepted the challenge will get. However, as the recommendations are continuing to come in from the people who are participating, many of them would like extra motivation. Many people won’t eat a carrot until their hungry. Well if you’re hungry for a result you might not need that motivation. But some people are very comfortable with where they are at and wouldn’t take action, not matter how big the carrot was. If that is you, I might suggest you might go back and start reading some of the other material on this blog and find out how this type of business (this type of marketing) is being done.

My version which is a version disseminated from many areas includes delivering value. And regardless how good you think it is, and regardless of the result you do get, the intent to create something of value is enough. And in order to initiate that process, you have to make a choice to enter to win. I suggest that you do it now, make the choice to be part of a strategy that no matter what, you’ll win.

There is no losing in this type of marketing, no matter what you believe is your result. What you do care about however is when you make a choice to enter to win; you are making a choice to deliver value to others. That is a winning intent, which will ultimately receive a winning result. This is a no lose situation. The only time you can possibly lose if you choice not to take positive action, because you are either:

A: Lazy

B: Overworked

C: Underpaid

D: Unhappy

E: Stressed Out

F: Frustrated

G: Comfortable with all that

This article’s keyword phrase, which you may have guessed already is; “enter to win”. Yesterday’s keyword phrase was “making money online with the internet”.

The additional information that I am going to reveal in this article is, “what are the extra qualifiers that I know will help me choice a great keyword phrase?” And, of course, that is; how well is the competition doing, not only in terms of their content, but their off site optimization as well.

This is a strategy known as: link popularity. It’s basically a voting system. Who ever gets gets the most votes gets elected. And how does Google know that other people are voting for your website? It follows links from other websites to yours.

But, it’s not just any type of link. It’s a very special king of link called anchor text. If you want to know in detail how it works, click here for more information.

For now, lets understand the basic concept. How does Google find it’s way around the internet? It either follows links which you have placed on your website to other websites, or it follows links from their websites to other websites and sometimes it follows a link from another website back to yours.

How does it qualify votes? By the number of times the googlebot lands on your website from a different place. Then it also says to itself, “what place was it that you were linked from?” How powerful is the vote, in terms of how many votes they have, and what type of votes they are giving you?

That’s why it’s such a great system, because its algorithm is unbiased in that it has been designed to seek out good content and more votes. The keyword phrase for this article, “enter to win” has no link popularity on my site currently, none.

So this article is a new page, creating content on my website, which I will now seek to bring backlinks; link popularity to my website from other places. And it is entirely possible that one of the criteria to win this Google challenge, in terms of any prizes we give out, it might be mandatory to have a link from your website to mine.

While this might sound self serving, and ultimately, only history will tell that, what is the message you will get when you enter to win? Reward. That’s why it’s called a challenge, because in order to win you must fulfill some of the terms of that challenge.

Making Money With the Internet

This is a continuation article in our series called ‘The Google Experiment’. If you want to read the series from the beginning, please click here.

Yesterday I came up with the goal; that goal being an Internet project which would take me 2.5 hours a week for three months, 90 days. In order to carry out any goal you will need a mechanism, part of which is this article.

It may be difficult for you to see how big a part this article is in the entire picture – I assure you, it’s big. But the ultimate goal, is of course; how to make money with the Internet.

I have always used a system, which includes Google’s organic search results to bring me targeted traffic, based on the content of the articles.

How I used my half an hour yesterday was to do some research on a keyword phrase that represented this article. I believe strongly that before you post any content online you should do your keyword research as well.

I use Market Samurai for the task because it gives me a very clear picture of any keyword phrase that I can think of, and a whole bunch that I cannot, on how many searches per day those keyword phrases get. Also, how much traffic you would get as a result of your searches, depending on where you are in the list of search results. It also gives me a very clear picture of my competition, on what they are doing, or what they are not doing to be currently ranked on Google.

I have heard many versions of keyword research; this software, that software, this strategy, that strategy. I talked to a lady in New York a few weeks ago who had paid $10,000 for an Internet Marketing course, and when I asked her what they were teaching her, she conveyed to me a strategy which did not make any sense to me whatsoever. I have of course only experience to draw upon and I can tell you, the strategy that she paid for will not work.

Market Samurai, on the other hand, is about as clear as you can get as a starting point for SEO. Everything online is trackable, and based on how we track and how we measure, Market Samurai gives us a very clear picture of how to create a positive outcome in terms of a search engine optimization.

The keyword phrase that was revealed by my Market Samurai research is; ‘Making Money with the Internet’, which is fascinating when you think about it.

Why? Because, Market Samurai showed me that the keyword phrase ‘Making Money with the Internet’—which is basically a long tail five-word keyword phrase would get 2,278 unique click throughs if this blog post was ranked #1 on Google.com. Look at this screen shot of the results from the Market Samurai.

Making Money with the InternetWhy is that amazing? Because, I can tell you, I would have never come up with that keyword phrase on my own or by asking friends. Even if I accidentally stumbled upon this keyword phrase, I never would have guessed that it gets that much traffic.

And, while that information is extremely powerful as a starting point there are other metrics to consider such as; whether it is a phrase to broad match, how much completion does it have in terms of the number of websites that appear on the search results pages and many other ways to refine the value of a keyword phrase.

While other SEO people are telling you to qualify the keyword phrase in terms of whether or not it has 300,000 competing websites or less, I only want to be on the front page. Being number one is where the most traffic comes from.

You are probably saying to yourself: ‘there must be some pretty heavy competition on the front page’, and there is. But Market Samurai tells me how well the top 10 are currently doing and whether they are ranking by design or by default.

In this case, Market Samurai is telling me they are somewhat ranking by default, because none of them in the top ten have used that keyword phrase, not one time, neither in their website and certainly not in the most important places that Google looks for it.

Google comes to your website and seeks out information and gives your web page ranking based upon information that it finds. Here is a situation where the top ten website on Google.com have not used a system to be found by the way that Google searches.

Therefore, that keyword phrase ‘Making Money with the Internet’ is the main keyword phrase of this article. I repeated it a few times, but I also placed it in very strategic places, and this very blog article will soon be the only one in the top ten that has actually followed the contextual rules.

In addition to on site optimization rules and where you place your keyword phrase there is another layer of optimization that must occur offsite. That method is called link popularity; a voting system used by Google’s algorithm to verify the authenticty and popularity of your content.

In my next article, I am going to reveal exactly what Google is looking for off site. And, in addition to keyword phrase, ‘Making Money with the Internet’, I will choose another keyword phrase which will be the standard by which this entire Google experiment will be measured.

Google loves content! Yes, but in my next article, I will talk about how it really qualifies content based on what it finds outside of your site and how it finds its way to you.

Earn Money Online Without Investment

This is the second in our series of online tutorials called “The Google Experiment.”  For the beginning of the series click here: Google Experiment.

Continuing with our online marketing strategy which leverages the power of Google SEO, today we’ll talk about where you would start  your project and what do you need to do to create your goal.

As far as my time goes, I am not counting the time I am spending writing this article for the Google experiment.

I am dedicating only a maximum of 2.5 hours per week.  I want to make it obvious to you that it doesn’t take a log of time to get a significant result, allowing you to earn money online without investment, just time.

I have to carve out  a portion of my day. Personally, 2.5 hours a week is not a big sacrifice for me and I hope it won’t be for you.  If all you  do is spend that time watching television then you are not going to get any result. Get away from the TV and let’s work together and get a result. If you want to earn money online without investment you’ll have to use your time.

I am going to walk you through it with the little time I have. And, I am not including the time writing this blog because I walk everyday anyway.

I am going to start the clock right after this article, and I am going to create something from the scratch, base on where I am at, and get a result: where I want to be.

The first thing I am going to do is  research using Market Samurai, because for me, any good Google strategy includes what we call “traffic” that is sent purposefully from a search engine like Google; free traffic, not paid traffic. You want to show up in Google search results and have people click on and come to your website.

We will calculate our results, as we go along, based on the amount of traffic that we get and the amount of money that we are going to make – either directly or indirectly. I will do my best to share the results with you and you can share your results in the comments area below.

How does Market Samurai work? If you want a complete understanding, I recently wrote a review on Market Samurai. That review shows what it does in detail and I give it the highest possible recommendation.

As in any good Google search engine optimization project or experiment, you should do keyword research, and in my opinion Market Samurai is the best tool on the market to do that. Did I also mention that it is very very inexpensive?

Market Samurai  works by helping you find keyword phrases that people already look for on Google, analyzes how many of them look for keyword phrases that you can think of, and many that you cannot. By accessing Google’s adwords database through the back-end, it finds highly targeted keyword phrases based on a couple of things.

How many people everyday would come to your website if you were number one on Google.com?

It gives you a strategy that says, not only how much traffic there will be if you are number one, but also what is your competition doing to be number one.

Why is that important? Because, somebody is currently number one and we are going to make a new content piece that has value, a new article of value or a new series of articles of value to drive traffic. We need to know who is already on the front page, for that keyword phrase. From there we are going to research, implement, and get a result.

My research will take me approximately 30 minutes. In tomorrow’s blog, or at the end of this one, I will let you now exactly how long it took. Remember, I am only going to use a maximum number of 2.5 hours per week for this experiment.  If you want to earn money online without investment I would say that only 2.5 hours per week is a pretty sweet deal.

Right after this article I am going to start logging my time. I am going to attempt to use 30 minutes, out of my entire day. Today is Monday; it is a perfect day to start. I am going to find 30 minutes today to do research. I may end up doing  more than that, but if I do I will let you know.

I am also going to be my own stopwatch.   I am often asked “how much time does it take to get a result?” As I complete each task I will log the amount of time.

The goal of today’s time, which starts right after this article, is to find one good keyword phrase. One that gets a good amount of searches and also reaches number one on Google.com in 90 days or less.

The Google Experiment

This is the first in a series of articles that we will call ‘The Google™ Experiment’.

Many people do not understand the overall power and effect that the Google Experiment might have on their business.

How do you leverage something that you know is powerful, when you have not seen significant results? I invite you to do the exercises with  me, and as we see the positive results we will have confirmation that the Google experiment works.

A result indicates that the system you use is flawed or it ultimately gets you a positive result. I always look for the positive results, and the objective here is to create a goal and that goal must be risky, in other words, one that has never been done  before. Why? Because I do not want to recreate the same results I have done in the past, I want to create even better ones.

This Google Experiment will help you create a better result if you choose to do the work.

I want you to see, by using the system I suggest, how much faster it will work. I can only judge my past experience which has seen it work pretty fast, and which is evidenced by this: search this keyword phrase “mannatech scam,” currently #1 on Google.com and get an average 1,000 page views a month.

In the Google Experiment, in which I’m encouraging you to partcipate , I am  going to create something that is risky in fact, I have not created it yet. and the results must be measurable.  Iif in fact we do not reach goal, how much further would we have gotten if had never chosen the goal in the first place.? That’s what our Google Experiment will tell us.

We are also going to put a limitation on the Google Experiment and give it a decent amount of time to succeed; let’s say three months. So, I am going to create a goal, based on a  time limits which I set as three months.

So, what method do I use if I  want  to obtain some measurable results within 90 days?

This article in the series is all about how to choose that goal. How do we find a strategy that leverages the power of Google, gives us results in 90 days, or less, and that which we can measure it’s effectiveness.. That’s why I’m calling it, “The Google Experiment.”  I want to experiment with you to help you get a better Google result.

We are going to measure it several ways. We are going to measure it based on how much time it took to create.  A little bit every day, or a little bit every other day? We will see.

I am going to use my time, none of my employees are going to help me in this experiment.  I understand that many of you are a one person operation, so I want to make it relevant to you.

So many of us live incredibly busy lives. This year while creating my thriving business,  I traveled 100,000 miles, , spoke to thousands of people and still managed to  spend a lot of enjoyable time with my family.

How do I find the time? Well, this article you are reading was created during a morning walk, which will be transcribed and put online. The words you are reading were created during the morning walk that is why it is called ‘The Walking Blog’.

I thought it would be a good idea to leverage my walking time to help you get a more lucrative result. To help you get started you must first: Create yourself a goal, be able to measure the results, and  make sure the goal is somewhat risky, that is something  you have never done ibefore. Then we put a time limit on it: 90 days.

So, at the very least, this series of blogs will be 90 days long, and I will explain each step that I take. In order to understand some of the intricacies on “how” I achieve my results may mean you have to spend some extra time implementing the exercises.

If you look at your statistics and you do not get a lot of Google traffic, or you do not get traffic at all, you shouldn’t set the bar too high, because, you do not know and are not familiar with many of the sub strategies. Hopefully, I am going to help you understand a way to do work through them so that your results are meaningful.

Of course,  ultimately it doesn’t matter, because the purpose is to show you “how”. If you want to see the results, you can eventually beacuse I will publish them in this blog as a part of the Google Experiment. You will be able to see the metrics behind it: where did we start, how did we get there and snap shots of proof along the way.

The very first step will be in our next article, which is how to create that goal. In others words; come up with a REAL goal!
