Mannatech Scam or Not to Scam

Mannatech Scam

That is the question!

If you are doing your due diligence and checking out the network marketing company Mannatech, in order to find out if you should join this company or not, you owe it to yourself to read this unbiased and refreshing article.

Did you know that there are 95 people a day that search for Mannatech Scam on Google? So, the fact that you may have done that and found this article proves it in part. It’s the number one search term that pops up in the Google drop down list once you’veMannatech Google keyed in “Mannatech” in the search box.

People are smart and have been conditioned to do their research. Anyone who is looking to join a network marketing company like Mannatech will inevitably do research on the company and usually Google is the first place they’ll look.  Since Mannatech Scam is at the top of the search drop down list, it’s easy for people to immediately find and read anything negative associated with this company.

Let me set the record before I continue.

“I am not a network marketer nor am I into MLM.”

I am a businessman and trainer who helps small to medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs like network marketers navigate the internet as a part of their overall marketing plan.  My motto is; “to ignore the internet at this time in history is to ignore the most effective and least costly Marketing Medium on the planet.”

So, as a marketer I can see, and likely you can to, that the scenario I’ve laid out above, could represent a significant problem for a company like Mannatech.  Why? Because most people tend to believe the negative stuff they read before they believe the good.  Wouldn’t you agree?

So, why is that? Perhaps a lifetime of programming the sub-conscious is the culprit?  I believe so.  Negative news and negative views are more prevalent in our society than you might be aware of. It’s a simple result of most people being focused on what they don’t want instead of what they do.

For example: Did you know that you found this article mainly because of SEO and Social Networking?  I had to learn how to do that. If more people learned how to make their lives better by engaging in the learning process instead of the bashing process, I wouldn’t have to write articles like this.

The issue I really want to discuss here is; just how much of a problem for Mannatech could this mean to their reputation?  Better yet, what does it mean to their bottom line. Well, after crunching some numbers, I’d figure about a minimum of $300,000 a month in lost product sales alone is at stake.  It would be significantly higher if you consider how many people turn away from working with Mannatech as a result of their negative online reputation.

For example: consider how many other associates would have had the opportunity to come into the company as a result of those that chose not to come in?  Network marketing is working in reverse in this situation where 1 person tells 2 people who then tells 2 people and so on. It’s a major online reputation management problem and one that is common in today’s content crazy internet world.

So, what is my experience with Mannatech and what do I think?  Well, after having spent the weekend at their annual event in Dallas, TX I can honestly say that this company has a lot going for it.

In the area of products alone, their glyconutrient based supplements have the potential to do a tremendous amount of good for health conscious people.

So, what about the company itself and its network marketing business structure?  Well, that too seems to be quite sound.  It employs many of the same strategies as other network marketing companies and like it or not, the numbers are clear; this year alone 65 million people will join a network marketing company.  Unbelievable, yes?  But true.

In my experience, it’s the associates that drive the success of any network marketing company.  And, after having spent the weekend with many of them I can tell you that Mannatech has a lot going for it because of these people.

Am I going to get involved?  No.  I can’t.

My company Training Business Pros stands to lose everything it has built by aligning itself with any network marketing company.

But, having said that, the people that I met were all amazing people.

What impressed me most about the people I met was their unwavering devotion to a company they believed in and a product they could rely on.  This is not fiction.  These are real people, leading real businesses and consuming real products that help them.

And inevitably, along comes a few disgruntled individuals who have axes to grind with either the technology or the business structure and write whatever they want in some online forum or blog.  Do these people know how much they are hurting others?

They may claim do it in the name of “justice” or a warped sense of “looking out for the welfare of others” but, everything they write is bad.  “Mannatech Scam” they say.  and “Mannatech Fraud”.

Who are these people and why do they feel the need to bring others down to prop themselves up?  This I will never understand.  If they just spent more time living a life of gratitude and abundance they might not have time to pull others down into their sorrowful pit of depression and anger.

Anyway, enough of that.  My thougths are this, “Mannatech Scam” is not even close to the experience that I have had as an unbiased observer.  I honestly would join the company if I could and that you can take to the bank.

So, why am I writing this?  What is my purpose?

Are you tired of people using online forums to rag on others who in my experience are great, kind, loving and caring people?  My intention is to encourage those of you who are among the 65 million people who will join a network marketing company this year, to take a serious look at Mannatech.  The real Mannatech.  Not the company who people without lives write about. But, the company that I saw and witnesses first hand.

By all means, do your research.  But, don’t stop after everything you read about Mannatech Scam.  Spend some time reading the supportive testimonials, the results, the profit you can make and the life you could live by following a business plan that works.  That’s the great thing about network marketing, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

As far as I can tell, everyone I met in Dallas that weekend had clear unwavering vision and world of opportunity at their feet.  Good luck to all of them on their journey!

Paul Tobey :)

P.S. Mannatech scam is largely the invention of Search Engine Marketers who knew the search habits of online searchers.  They know how to use the search term “Mannatech Scam” to optimize articles, optimize videos, and manipulate scam reports.  Don’t be fooled my the non-legit claims.

    Dear Paul,

Thank you for your kind words. As a Mannatecher for 13 years I can only say that in my experience everything positive you have said is true. I came to this industry and Mannatech in particular from a nice “corporate” position with Citigroup. I cam initially because of the phenominal products. I too have seen incredible resutls with these products. My wife being a nurse was especially intrigued with the science and products.

The MLM or networking business was a little scary for me at first. But as I educated myself more, associated with terrific people and from a ‘business’ stand point researched Mannatechs business plan I was and still am convinced that this industry and Mannatech in particular offer an unequaled opportunity to generate substantial income. We already have!

You are correct that there have been those who call it a scam or worse simply tell untruths about what these products and business can do. Shame on them. But scientific research conducted by third party researchers has proven our case and continues to shed positive light on the power of these products and the real science behind them

So, kudos to you Paul and if anyone wants further information from an actual Mannatecher just email me at sgrellet@aol.com I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

Great article on if mannatech scam is real. Its shocking how people can bring well meaning people down and not think twice about it – thanks for sharing this!

A great article Paul. When I decided to become a network marketer I did a search with the name of different companies and the word scam and there is dirt on many of these companies. I then did my own due diligence and spoke to the person that I would be working with and gave her my list of “demands”. Do you have training, what do I have access if I sign up with you, what hidden costs do you have, how do I purchase products, and will I have a shed full of soap at the end? If you have some concerns about what you have read, discuss it with your personal contact, team leader, or the companies helpdesk until your questions are answered.

Robert Kiyosake explains network marketing beautifully in his book “Business School For People Who Want To Help Others”, but the business model for anyone who wants to start a business without a massive outlay is brilliant. It is also a very personal business, compared to walking into your local supermarket or pharmacy to buy a product over the counter.

I know I have met some very dedicated, hard working, loving people who have had amazing results in their health and lifestyle, and genuinely want to help others to do the same, while continuing to take responsibility and also benefit personally while improving the lives of themselves and their families, while reducing the risks faced by employees, of job losses.

  • Network Marketing Sweetie

Hi Paul, Awesome article. You are not only brilliant but classy. Thank you for all your training over the years. I would whole heartedly agree with you that “Mannateach scam” is something people should take with a grain of salt and check both sides of the fence.

I was also a skeptic in the beginning!

I had a serious ENT problem It was a bearable challenge, yet an uncomfortable one. I am very pleased that I don’t have to walk around with a tissue box and a plastic bag for all the snotty tissues anymore. So, yes, I can thank Mannatech.

I became a distributor…my first time in MLM! I had no idea what I was doing and today, I think that was a good thing. I had no sales experience and that did not matter because I wasn’t in it for the money. I didn’t have any “hang-ups” about Network Marketing and that has, without a doubt, contributed to my success with this company.

I have moved up the “ranks” purely because of my willingness to share this technology and what it has done for me. I am not ashamed to say that I have made money or to say that I do earn a great income due to the fact that all the people I have shared this technology with has seen dramatic results in their health. It really does feel good to help people!

I did my research because of my skepticism and found that Network Marketing does work, but also found that it is hard work! There is no such thing as making quick money! “Network Marketing is not for everyone” some say. I believe that if you want to help people, it is your right and if you allow negative people to influence your life, then so be it. What made it easy for me was the proof in the studies done and the patents that Mannatech hold on their products. It’s all there…go find it.

Yes, there are negative reports on the internet about Mannatech and I truly believe that people all around the world will take a closer look because of all this hype. What they will eventually find is the truth…and you know…the truth needs no defense.

    Is Mannatech a scam…absolutely not.

Let’s cover the planet in a blanket of Glyconutrients and help those who seek the truth. The money you make…well, you can do what you want with it. Give it away, help more people or simply buy the things that make you happy.

Thanks for the great blog post Paul. I’ve been doing some research and found that It’s pretty easy for companies to fall prey to marketers who want to unethically create controversy online to promote their own websites. Thanks for setting the record straight.

    Joe. Very well put.

It’s amazing how much people use the internet to bash instead of support. People don’t realize the energy they put out. Yes, if you have a legitimate gripe and were taken for a ride you could post your comments on a forum or blog however, in my experience most of the negative stuff you read is as you say; something that has an ulterior motive.

    I wish you well.

  • Dianna

WOW! I could write a book on Mannatech..been a Mannatecher longer than I can remember. It has done soooo much for me but just one short story. My Dr. said I had ovarian cancer and could not wait to do surgery, that’s how serious it was..I felt I needed a second opinion, got it and agreed, it was very serious. I was not going to live 3 to 5 yrs..that was 12 yrs. ago!!! I had, at that time taken Mannatech about 5-7 yrs. 12 yrs. ago..hear that people?? I have not so much as even had a cold, had a FULL (ugh) checkup this year. My internist said that I had bones of a 35 yr. old (I’m relunctant to say 60) and my other tests were as good at that one!! SO, all that said..use MANNATECH…IT WORKS.

  • Dianna

OH! just so you know! I was on my way to order Mannatech online when I saw this Mannatech a Scam and I was going to give whoever did this HECK..but I guess I don’t have to after seeing what it was all about!

Glad someone is out there to set the record straight. Been in Mannatech for about a year. Been taking the products and have had some amazing results with my health issues. I’m 66 and I feel like I’m 30 again. Could not ride my horse anymore a year ago because of cronic pain in the joints where my legs meet my hips. After a few months on Mannatech products I was riding again and now I have absolutely no pain. Yes, network marketing is hard work and because of some hard work and caring about other people my wife and I are going to the Bahammas this October, all expenses paid by Mannatech.

I too researched the company before I signed up and found everyone to be of the highest integrity. Great company offering a great opportunity for anyone to gain health and wealth.

  • http://www.familybusinesstips.com Joe Shaw

I’m not sure if you read the article or not, but I find it interesting that Paul is NOT a Mannatech associate and has no intention of becoming one. So if anything, his perspective is more unbiased then yours.

He IS however a successful internet marketing. Which is why all of us were able to find this page. Just the fact that you commented here and that I’m reading it is proof enough of his success. So regardless of your agenda whether pro or against Mannatech, we are all here because Paul Tobey’s marketing works. So to find your SCAMWATCHER name actually points to a picture of Paul is LAUGHABLE. Next time you post, just remember you’re on his page that he created and you visited.

Ok so you’re against Mannatech, what is it that you are for? If you’re for the poison found in drugs that are PROVEN to have negative side affects, go build a site and get the word out about that. O that’s right you probably don’t know how. Maybe you should take one of Paul’s classes so you can learn how to build something of your own.

    :-)

In my experience what is really sad is that many of you ‘SCAMWATCHERS’ are just people with your own obvious agendas presenting yourselves as if your position is unbiased… and that could not be farther from the truth.

Paul inspired me to write my own Mannatech Scam post and how savy marketers may be abusing YOUR company’s online presence in google for their own purposes.

Can Mannatech products help with Type 1 Diabetes? If so, how?

  • Urban Planner

Paul, your article refers to “Mannatech Scam” as the keyword search term. I see that as of this day, this post is # 1 on Google for “Mannatech Scam”. When I type “Mannatech” into the google box, I did see the automatic drop down bar that suggests “Mannatech Scam”.
I clicked on that out of curiosity, and found this blog. Which leads me to think, that Google is leading me what to think, and what to look for, or what I “may” want to look for, even if “scam” wasn’t on my mind. Therefore, if Google is suggesting to me to look for “Mannatech Scam”, when I wasn’t even thinking “Mannatech Scam”, then Mannatech has a problem. A positive search for Mannatech, can quickly turn a client away if they are uncomfortable with the “scam” word. Especially if it influences someone to stop a purchase. I’m guessing this may be costing them thousands of dollars everyday. So, exactly, how did you get this ‘Mannatech Scam’ post at the top of Google?

I would like to say my family has used Mannatech’s products for many years we have been delighted with the quality of Mannatech’s products and with the company.I would be willing to say these products have save a lot of trips to the Doctors office just by keeping our immune system healthy. Mr Paul Toby is also a excellent trainer on how to do any business . Your employees would benefit and so would your company Thanks Colleen

Paul, are you a shrill shill or shill that is shrill?

  • PJ

Paul, what about the legitimate complaints and concerns about a company like Mannatech? This is a company that has had run ins with the State of Texas as well as ABC news. You can pass the blame onto the sale associates but isn’t the credibility of this company questionable at best? Isn’t there something concerning about a network marketing format that allows those good people you referenced, I know some myself, to be manipulated into thinking that the hundreds of hours they commit throughout the year to trying to grow their “business” will pay off in ways that it won’t? From what I’ve seen it isn’t an “online reputation problem” but a product problem, if I am in the business for a health product I expect more than testimonials and promises of wealth. It isn’t people with an axe to grind who are concerned about Mannatech, it is friends and families and as well as the Attorney General of Texas.

  • BillyVitaoe

I think it’s interesting that the Mannatech Wiki page quotes a glycobiologist at John Hopkins School of Medicine that says we get all these sugars from our normal diet, dismissing the need for glyconutrients. What the Wiki doesn’t mention is that the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at John Hopkins who also teaches at the School of Medicine (Dr. Ben Carson) spoke at a Mannatech event and said it essentially cured of him of his cancer.

There’s an info line that Dr. Carson’s office set up. Dr. Carson is of course one of the most famous doctors in the world (a TNT movie was made about him staring Cuba Gooding Jr.). Dr. Carson said his family, friends, patients and himself all take Mannatech products and emphatically says it works.

So what’s the truth? And how can this information not be included on Mannatech wiki page? So strange!@

  • BillyVitaoe

oh also, Dr. carson said we don’t get these needed sugars in our normal diet, so the supplements are needed

  • Limitedwords

Hi all, I have joined and started to use the products after being very sceptic about it all. The people are great, the products amazing. So glad I joined!

  • Limitedwords

Duly noted. But have you used the product and has these individuals you are referring to used the product as indicated? The reason I am asking is that I myself was very careful and sceptic about Mannatech. I have started using the products as directed and has experienced amazing results. And Mannatech also has a policy that if the product does not work for you you can return the product and get a full refund. Why would they state that if they run the risk that everyone would then return the product? They would then be running at a great loss. Being an entrepreneur myself starting and growing your own or new is not easy. It is hard, but the rewards is so much more when you succeed and indeed you will if your business is made up out of the right stuff and your attitude is right. And that is what being an entrepreneur is all about. The risk, the challenge, the dedication, the motivation, the self discipline. When you work for yourself you only compete with yourself and that is much harder. You get rewarded for what you do right! There is no pay check at the end of the month guaranteed if you have been doing nothing the whole month. And yes, sometimes you have failed attempts but an true entrepreneur never ever gives up, they only get up again and again. I have failed and I have succeeded, but you get up and try harder. I therefore have great compassion for those who fail, and it is hard and you do not feel like never getting up again. But if you chose to stay at the bottom of the pit you will sooner rather than later find yourself alone at the bottom of the pit. If you get up, you can learn from mistakes and move on. You can only be an victim if you choose to be an victim. That is a choice each one makes everyday. Life is not fair. Life is not easy. If you do find what drives you, life is supercallefragilisticexpialadocious. Live with purpose and rewards will follow. xxx

  • PJ

According to Mannatech’s Wikipedia page they are in fact running at a great loss and between 2008 and 2010 lost over 30 million dollars. I am not opposed to the entrepreneur or the entrepreneurial spirit, I admire both. But I have seen a lot of people work very hard in network marketing, both for Mannatech and other similar programs and get burned. They have worked very hard for years and never saw the result they were always told was just around the corner.

  • Mike Bekker

Thanks for this blog Paul. I am not a Manna user but I have tried MLM. I tried 2 different companies before giving up after a couple of months. Wearing a “Loose Weight Now ask me how” badge and standing in shopping malls and trying to make eye contact with overly-large women as a male is very, very dangerous! In the Gym, trying to strike up conversation about body type with a sweaty overweight gent is also not wise. In 21 days, 6 hours a day, I sold zip. This was my first attempt. In South Africa, so many people have joined MLM’s and then end up bailing after a few months.

My wife’s cousin is a Chartered Accountant and a superb business man. One drawback is his limited vocab and a stammer that appears from time to time. Yet he is a very successful sales trainer. He is currently being mentored by Sales Partner, Bryan Singer and his team. I believe the key to any MLM member’s success is not so much the product, but the training they receive. In my case, I had no problem writing emotively to either generate tears of compassion or tears of laughter, dependent on what I wanted to convey. The problem is when I opened my mouth, everything falls apart.  The cuz closes deals because people like him and he knows how to get an immediate commitment to buy from him irrespective of the product being offered. It’s the way he raises questions and leads people to a path of discovery of a need they did not know they had. Socratic method?

Maybe the issue with Mannatech is not so much the credibility of their product, but how their members are presenting themselves? Irrespective of the negative publicity of “The Scam”; if you like/trust someone, you will try the product, if it has beneficial results, you will continue to use it, in spite of what others say.

  • Mutant

I am an associate with Mannatech, but I don’t sell to anyone else.  I tell people how much it has helped me, which would be considered “promoting” the product.  I have had NO problems with the company.  In fact, the products may be responsible for keeping an inoperable brain tumor dormant in my hear.  Since the only way to really know would be to stop taking, I’ll never know.  I refuse to take the risk, especially with 2 young children to raise.  So, I hope anyone who wishes to do harm to Mannatech will think twice about the lives the products could be saving.

  • Believer

Thanks for setting things straight, Paul. I use the products and I absolutely love it. Many lives have been changed. Anything wonderful will be persecuted. That’s a sad reality. Nonetheless, Mannatech is a company with  integrity  and a love to help people and children.

  • Arbyuu

“Duly noted. But have you used the product…?”
Many people drink milk.   A percentage of them will contract disease. A smaller percentage will experience “miraculous” cures”.  Some of those cured will assoiciate the miracle with religious faith. Others will believe it is due to Ambrotose- if they take it.   If milk were marketed my Mannatech, surely some would thank God for cattle.  Never-the-less, it is all bs.

Yes, Mannatech products can help diabetes.  If you buy their products, you’ll have little money left for junk food.

We have been Mannatech members for about 15 yrs. & love everything about  it.  The integrity of this co. is like nothing else. My husband has had 3 open heart surgeries (3 valve replacements & very enlarged heart since the age of 23) He is now 60 yrs. & uses the AO & cardio balance.  When he has his check-ups at the Mazinkowski Heart Institute in Edmonton every yr. his heart specialist always tells him ” I don’t know what you’re doing but keep doing it”.  He also has a pace maker. We cannot say enough about Mannatech products!  Usually when people can’t make money in MLM companies it’s not the products it’s the compensation plans.  They are designed to “flush” if you don’t meet a certain level.  So if you’re looking to find a MLM to do business stay away from any co. that has levels.  Only the top people are going to make money.  We will never stop taking Mannatech products but I have found a co. that has NO levels & only 2 legs & is designed to let everyone make money, from the bottom to the top.  There is NO flushing, levels, you can never lose your spot,  & there are 5 income streams & they have excellent products!
