Tinnitus ~ Tinnitis ~ Tinnitus ~ Tinitus ~ Tinitis ~ Tintinitis ~ Tinnutis ~ Tinnutis ~ Tenitus ~ Tinitis
Posted by admin under Tinnitus BlogIf you are here, it’s because you are hoping to find cures for tinnitus, or a treatment for ringing in the ears. I keep a pretty close eye on what’s new when it comes to “treatment for ringing in the ears” and I try to stay on top of the “tinnitus news” when it comes to “2006 tinnitus research”.
Whether you are searching for “sound therapy tinnitis”, or you wonder “does vitamin e help tinnitus”, or you are looking for “drugs that help tinnitus”, or you are looking to find any way to help you sleep due to lack of sleep because of Tinnitus, you have come to the right place.
If you wonder if “white noise therapy” or “white noise for sleeping” will help, you have to take it from an ex-chronic Tinnitus sufferer…I’ve looked long and hard for “tinnitus relief” and a “cure for ringing in the ears”. I too was in desperate search of that “miracle Tinnitus drug” and tried everything. Well almost everything!
There are many “causes for ringing ears” or “buzzing in ear”, and much “tinnitus research” is being done to help “Cure Tinnitus”. Yet a “treatment for tinnitus” or “help for tinnitus” sufferers can be an exhausting and depressing journey. I want to help you in your search, and make things a lot easier for you!
I too spent thousands of dollars on finding “tinnitus relief” and “tinnitus remedy” including thousands of dollars on “tinnitus retraining therapy” better known as “TRT” or “tinnitus maskers”. I suffered from chronic tinnitus and “hyperacusis” and depression. I tried “white noise therapy”. I joined a “tinnitus support group” to find “help with tinnitus” where I learned about all these so called “cures for tinnitus”.
Yet I was desperate and tried highly recommended “tinnitus home remedies”, a variety of herbal magic “medication for tinnitus” and a large menue of “treatments for tinitus”. I was so convinced that the “tinnitus cure” was outside of me, that I gave my money over to anyone who promised “drugs that help tinnitus” were going to help me and the miracle cure was only a phone call away. I even went as far as Japan to meet healers and get treatment! If I could, I’d find that magic man on the hill in India and pay my house, two cars and even my piano to get that cure!
I would have tried anything! I just read lately that some tinnitus sufferers are drinking urine as a potential cure! If I didn’t know what I know now, I certainly would have tried drinking urine as a therapy if there was a single chance it would work! I know people who tried “cognitive behavioral therapy for tinnitus”. I’ve read about “tinnitus research treatment Europe”. I’ve read about “sound therapy tinnitus” and all about “tinitus research”. I probably tried a good 50% of all the promised therapy and so called “herbal medicine for tinnitus” out there! And receipts to prove it!
Don’t get fooled by the bogus claims. Start where there is great information at the “American Tinnitus Association” website. There are wonderful people out there doing great work for “tinnitus research”. Your “tinnitus recovery” is a journey you must navigate with wisdom, and most of it will be on your own. Before you make choises about anti-depressants, herbal meds, maskers, urine therapy, or any kind of therapy, please do your due diligence and consult your doctors, consult the “American Tinnitus Association”, consult your local “tinnitus research” group, consult tinnitus resources, patients, and news. Ask plenty of questions! But start by asking YOURSELF the important questions.
For this very reason, I put together a one hour downloadable seminar you can listen to, so you get an idea of my tinnitus journey, what has helped me, and how I live a Full and Abundant Tinnitus Free life. I too was a chronic tinnitus sufferer, but I turned it around. So before you go looking for all the answers that exist outside of you, start looking for the obvious answers that are “inside” of you!
Wishing you a Tinnitus Free Life,
Paul Tobey
P.S. You have “buzzing in ears”, “ringing in ears”, “hyperacusis”, and you are seeking “tinnitus treatments”, please stay on top of “tinnitus news” like Tinnitus Today. Remember as of August 15 2006, there is no “cure for ringing ears” or “cure for Tinnitus”. Stop here for a second and think about what your Tinnitus is teaching you about yourself, and the type of things you must learn to improve your life situation. If you are not convinced that Tinnitus can improve you, your life situation, and everyone in your life, listen to the download.

I went to the doctor for my tinnitus, which I developed last December, 2005. The ear, nose and throat doctor told me there was nothing he could do about it, that he had it too, and to basically “get over it” and learn to live with it. I am healthy, happy, and I am not depressed, but this ringing in my ears is driving me crazy. Anyway, my point is that doctors think you are nuts when you tell them you have ringing in your ears, and they don’t want to do anything about it. Thank you.

Hi Susie,
I agree. They said the same thing to me. But, the fact of the matter is Doctors can’t do anything and they know it. It’s up to you to find your own path to healing.
You’ll find it, just keep telling yourself that and it will happen. Ringing ears drives everyone who has it crazy. The trick is to get into the habit of not giving it energy. Distract yourself from it by focusing on what you do want instead of what you don’t. It takes some practice, in my case a good 2 years of practice, but I finally got the hang of it. Now my life is so much better than it was even before I got tinnitus. It forced me to re-examine my destiny and I’m actually
grateful, believe it or not, that I got tinnitus.
Wishing you the best,

I’M LISTENING TO BEETHOVEN 5TH IN MY LEFT EAR AS I WRITE. THE BUZZING NOISE CAUSES ME TO HAVE PANIC ATTACKS. MY MD SCHEDULED ME FOR A HEARING TEST. I DIDN’T SEE WHAT GOOD THAT WOULD DO, I DIDN’T GO. I’M AN RN MYSELF. I READ THAT IN BOTH EARS ITS NOT SO WORRYSOME. IN ONE EAR, IT COULD BE SOMETHING SERIOUS.
I DISCRIBED TINNITIS AS A FIELD OF CIACADAS (SP?) SINGING.
NOW AS A CHINESE WATER TORTURE. I REALLY BLAME IT ON SIDE EFFECTS OF MEDS A FAMOUS UNIV. HOSPITAL HAS GIVEN ME.

I suffer from sinutus since I was a kid, I discovered at the age of 15 that I had a hearing problem and tinutis. I\’m 55 percent deaf and feel fluids in my head, I get vertigo and also I can feel the fluids dripping into my ear canal. It keeps me up at night and it makes me very nervous. I have sinus trouble all the time. The ringing is the strongest on my right side and I also suffer from cronic pain on the entire right side of my body including tingling and my eye twitching. Is there anything that really will work towards at least making the problem subside? I am now 46 years old and I\’ve ventured out to get a job in order to pay for my children\’s education; it is a very difficult thing to make oneself so vulnerable after hiding for so many years. I truly hope there will be a cure someday. As for meds. I was always given meds as a child, apparently I had a lot of ear infections and alomost drowned a couple of times. Sicadas in my head!

Dear Friend,
Thank you for you post to my blog.
I must first say that I am not a doctor and do not hold any kind of medical degree. Therefore it would be irresponsible of me to comment on your medical condition. I can only speak based on my own experience after suffering severely from chronic Tinnitus for 7 years. My experience with tinnitus was not accompanied by vertigo or hearing loss. I did not have chronic pain on the entire right side of my body, nor did have have any tingling sensations or eye twitching.
What I did have however, as a result of my own kind of suffering, was an inability to overcome my suffering which led me into a space of depression. I felt like a victim. I too went into seclusion and wanted to drop out of life.
You asked, “Is there anything that will really work towards at least making the problem subside?”
That depends…. “How hard are you willing to work to heal what can be healed?” In my experience the symptoms of Tinnitus cannot be healed with conventional means like an operation or medication. In other words, there is “no” miracle cure. I know you know this because I’m sure you’ve tried everything, just like I did.
Therefore, what can you do? Well, first let me say that thinking your tinnitus is any worse than anyone else won’t get you anywhere. Everyone who has it knows to some degree how debilitating it can be. Why am I saying this? Because you’re not a victim. No one is. Acting like a victim will cause you to get more of what you don’t want…suffering. Ask yourself instead, “What do I want?” In other words; stop thinking about what you don’t want (your tinnitus) and focus on what you do want. If you focus on being a victim of tinnitus you’re just going to get more of the same.
It amazes me sometimes how people go through life doing the same things day after day expecting a different result. That’s not going to happen. So, focusing on what you do want involves 3 things. 1. What do you really want? 2. What do you do to get it? and most importantly, 3. How to do the things you need to do to get it?
These are the 3 critical elements to success in anything worthwhile. Most people have none of these things. First and foremost, most people have no idea what they want. They know what they don’t want like; financial worries, relationship problems, work stress and even chronic suffering. The problem is; that’s why most people get more of the same every single day because their focused on thise things they don’t want.
To figure out what you really want takes effort, thought and most importantly; soul work. What were you born to do? What are you good at? What do you like to do? What would have the most benefit to others? What are you passionate about? What are your natural talents?
When you have answers to these questions, and a whole lot more, then pick a really big goal based on those answers. What’s a really big goal? Well, for me at least, my dream is to perform at Carnegie Hall. Do you get the idea? Even if it seems impossible to achieve you still need to pick the goal that would most serve your greatest potential in this lifetime.
Next, you need to find out what you need to do to achieve your goal. This involves a great deal of research and thought. If you don’t know what to do you can never possibly even hope to achieve anything.
Finally, once you’ve figured out what to do next, and you have devised some kind of plan of action, then you need to find out “HOW” to do the things you need to do. Now, this is important; forget “trial and error.” That will take far too long. It’s the most popular way of doing things but by far the least effective. The best way to learn how to do something is; ask someone who’s already done what it is you want to do and has had some success doing it. That’s the quickest way to learn anything worthwhile.
What’s all this got to do with tinnitus? Just this; “When you focus on getting what you really want in life, your suffering will end, the chronic symptoms of your tinnitus will fade and you will become the person you never thought possible and the person that others will be drawn to.” You see, there’s only 2 things you can do in this world when it comes to other people. You can either “affect” them or you can “infect” them. Which do you think is better?
Most people do not realize that their lives are part of the greater good. They struggle through life thinking only of themselves and how much pain their in. What are you doing for others? How are you helping them? By stepping into life and doing everything you can to achieve your goals and “affecting” people along the way, you will inevitably turn into a leader of the highest order. How do you do any of this? “Change your behaviour!” Only then, will others see you as a new person, a leader, a teacher and a healer.
Why do you think I share my tinnitus story with others? Because, if I’ve had success healing my tinnitus, it’s my duty to share it with others. When I do this, even though I don’t think about it much, I know I will be rewarded. But, much more than that…. I will have lived my ultimate purpose in life; “To help the grand collective we call; Humanity.”
Have a tinnitus free day!

I seem to have gotten tinnitus from a short in my yamaha electric piano. A slight high frequency pitch seemed to make my ear worse and worse. In the beginning I was not even aware of the ear problem but actually came down with vertigo way before I notice an ear problem. Because I had vertigo for the first time ever about 7 years ago that went away within a week, I didn’t think much of that I had it again. However, the vertigo though slowly is going away has been with me for almost 8 weeks now. About 5 weeks into the vertigo I first noticed my ear hurt slightly. But it seemed to be more prevalent when I played the piano. By week 6 of vertigo the ear was at the point where I could make a definite connection between the pain and certain keys that I was now really noticeing seemed to be making an unusual high frequency sound. Currently weeks 7-8 of vertigo I am hearing ringing in my ear. I have to believe its all associated. I have since shipped the piano to be fixed. But my real deepest concern is that should I be playing any piano at all now or will I be causing more damage. I know you are a professional musician. So I need to ask when did you get over the concern that you were not causing more damage by continuing playing? Piano is an important part of me though I do not play professionally, I can play for hours, often with my eyes closed, and I love just doodling which I can do for almost 30 minutes straight, just looking for sweet sounds. I was hoping you could tell me not to be too concerned about continuing playing? Thank you! - David

David,
Thank you for your post. As a professional musician it is always important to protect your ears. Did you know that orchstra musicians are 50% more likely to develop hearing disorders than people who work around loud heavy machinery?
In terms of playing piano, please do not stop. Piano, like any other instrument is emotionaly therapy. You obviously love it, so don’t stop. That would be like cuttin off your connection to your inner soul
However, I wear hearing protection when I practice and perform. I find that even stuffing rolled up tissue paper in my ears can help a great deal. The piano is a loud instrument, it sometimes requires you to protect your hearing so it doesn’t get any worse.
All the best,
Paul

Hi
I’m a stay at home mom of two toddlers and have had tinnitus for at least 3yrs. I noticed it shortly after my second child.
I have hearing loss in one ear so I am not quite sure if the ringing is in both ears or not.
I’ve noticed it getting worse lately have been checking it out online, I didn’t even know there was a name for it until about two weeks ago. The doctor didn’t give me much information to go on other than there’s nothing that can be done.
Luckily I am not depressed at all but I do get extremely irritated when there is a lot of background noise and I can’t make out what people are saying.
I want to find some help because I don’t want to become a recluse or lose my patience with my children or friends.
Does anyone know if there is a possible link to scuba diving and tinnitus?? I don’t want to do anything that is going to make this worse.
I am extremely happy I came across your site and am able to hear from others who have this.
I want to download the message you have recommended in dealing with this.
